CHARLOTTESVILLE BALLET SUMMER DANCE CAMPS
Charlottesville Ballet is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit dance academy that offers Summer Camps for students ages 4-11 years old and Summer Classes for ages 3-Adult. HIGH SCHOOL SHORT PLAY FESTIVAL
St. Anne’s-Belfield School invites energetic and ambitious young actors to participate in its third annual High School Short Play Festival. Students participate in a wide range of theatre experiences, including acting technique, story-telling, and movement, with emphasis on using the full body as an instrument of personal expression. Actors experience the challenge of spontaneous group improvisation through a series of games developed by improvisation guru Viola Spoli, as well as Stanislavski-based training, in which elements of acting technique are explored through partner improvisations that are subsequently prepared for presentation. Classes culminate in rehearsal and performance of selected 10 minute-plays.

PATHFINDERS ART AND NATURE CAMP
This camp is for kids who love art, nature and adventure, with small groups of 8 children and two teachers. Children have daily art lessons at the McGuffey Art Center working with clay, wax, mosaics and painting as well as a daily field trip for swimming, hiking, and art/nature installations. Camp runs from July 6-31 in one week sessions from 9am-3pm. Camp is in its 11th year and founded and run by artist Ninni Baeckstrom.

I focus on positive reinforcement in the creative process. We work with sand trays making 3 dimensional pieces in the sand. Positive interaction with other children is important and hand stimulation in relationship to the thinking process is helpful. lots of nerves in the fingertips which goes directly to the brain. We use watercolor, graphite, and some mixed media including collage. We have a different project each day for the 5 day camp. The children paint a group mural on canvas.
